Membership in PUG is voluntary and open to all employees of institutions who use the products and services of software providers supported by PUG. Under the umbrella of products called POISE - People Oriented Information Systems for Education. PUG is an organization governed by the membership subject to the terms set forth in the bylaws. Therefore, by becoming a member of PUG, an institution and its representatives are accepting responsibility for the success of our organization. Member responsibilities include:

  • Actively Participate in Organization Projects - A volunteer organization is only as good as its members. No monetary compensation is given to any PUG member, no matter how much time they give the organization. In order to be totally effective, the organization must rely on the participation of its individual members.
  • Support of PUG Purpose - PUG has a formal Purpose by which the products and services it provides are directed. Members must remain loyal to the tax exempt purpose of PUG.
  • Concurrence with PUG Bylaws - The Bylaws of PUG must be followed in order to successfully run an organization of our size.
  • Vote in Organization Elections - All members are encouraged to vote for those fellow members and issues they feel most represent their opinion about the direction the organization should follow.
  • Membership Information - Each PUG member can find information detailing the policies and procedures of the organization as well as information about the various groups and activities by visiting  www.puginc.org.
  • Voting Privilege - Each PUG member is eligible to vote when an election or an issue must be decided. Elections or voting on an issue will be conducted in accordance with the bylaws. Holding Office - Each PUG member is eligible to be a candidate for and hold a position on the PUG Board of Directors.
  • PUG News - Information that is of interest to all members of the POISE Users Group will be made available through the POISE-L listserv.
  • Resear ch Information - From time to time and for various reasons, PUG attempts to keep its finger on the pulse of membership by doing surveys and other research intent on producing results beneficial to each member.
